New roaming rates

As of 30/4/2016 the new roaming rates in the EU will come into effect. This represents an excellent first step towards abolishing all roaming in 2017. Well done, European Commission!

So what’s new? For all bundles topped up as from 29/3 00h01, all of your usage while roaming will be deducted from your active bundle (the number of SMS, calling minutes and mobile data in your bundle). So it makes sense we’ll no longer be offering roaming packages as of that date. In general, the new roaming rates are more advantageous than the packages, after all… Below you’ll find an overview of the roaming rates that will be charged:

If you have an active bundle:

  • Send an SMS: in the EU the rate will be 0.0242 €/SMS, outside the EU this will be 0.5 €/SMS. The number of SMS you send, will be deducted from your active bundle, while the costs will be deducted from your calling credit.
  • Receive an SMS: free of charge in and outside the EU.
  • Call: in the EU the rate will be 0.06 €/min. with a maximum of 0.22 €/min. on top of the normal calling rate, outside the EU this depends on which country you’re in. Best to consult our roaming wizard for details. The costs will be deducted from your calling credit.
  • Receiving a call in the EU will cost 0.0121 €/min. The costs will be deducted from your calling credit.
  • Roaming mobile data at 0.06 €/MB (calculated per 10 kB) is possible in the following European countries: Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Croatia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Czech Republic, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK. The number of MBs you use during roaming will be deducted from your active bundle, while the costs will be deducted from your calling credit.
  • In the United States you’ll surf mobile at 0.50 €/MB with AT&T and T-Mobile, calculated per 10 kB. Other operators may charge up to 13 €/MB, so beware.
  • Mind you: we’re also offering data roaming packages. Read more here.

Please note that some applications of your smartphone might connect automatically to the Internet and use data while roaming. You can disable use of mobile data when roaming in the settings of your smartphone. Would you like to know the exact rates for a specific country? Check the roaming wizard on this page. More questions? Don’t hesitate to give us a call on the free number 1976 from anywhere in the EU!

The new rates will apply for all bundles topped up as of 29/3 00h01.
